FPS and OM Headed to State AGAIN!

Oh how awful  I haven't posted this year and when I am flooded with things to write, I discover my last post is very similar to this year's post at the same time!  My how time flies when you are having fun!

We are off again for both FPS and OM state competitions!  Over 25 students competed in FPS in February in 7 different teams.  3 of our teams placed in 1st, 2nd, and 4th places for presentation of action plans!  4 of our 7 teams have invitations to state, placing 3rd and 9th in the district, with two state invitations!  We will be traveling to Orlando on Sunday, March 17th to share in the FPS process with hundreds of other students from around the state!  I couldn't be more proud of our children and their accomplishments!

If that weren't enough, at the district Odyssey of the Mind competition on March 2, 23 students showed their problem solving skills in 4 different teams.  3 of the 4 teams placed, with two teams going to state!  We had  2nd, 3rd and 5th place wins in three different problems!  Our families were a tremendous support and our parent coaches are the best!

Finally, last Friday, at the district science fair, 12 students earned 16 awards in addition to 3 district art awards!

Not that winning is everything, but to see students work so terribly hard and be recognized for that hard work, is rewarding as an adult who supports and cheers on their growth.  As I reflect on this time that has gone by, I am reminded of how lucky I am to be part of such a wonderful school culture!  Way to go Freedom 7!
