Eric Carle Sparks Creativity

After reading many Eric Carle books and viewing his video describing his writing and illustrating process we decided to play Eric Carle! On Friday, our minds and hands raced with ideas! The children had a wonderful time making a beautiful and creative mess! (They did a wonderful job cleaning it up too!) Next week we will use our papers to create our own animals to tell a story. Hmm...perhaps we should make our own puppet show? Thank you Mrs. Crutchfield for helping us paint!

Our Gallery

Everyone used wonderful color combinations

Could this be a lion head?

Tyler's Green lizard? dragon?

Such wonderful and caring students

Sierra uses her hands. We had bells, golf balls, wisks, and all sorts of things to use!

The children shared their paints very well!

Excited About Puppets!

Last week, we were fortunate enough to have Mrs. Mary come to speak to us about puppeteering! The children were able to ask questions about puppets and learn a bit more about how puppets can help to express themselves! They even made their own puppets, much like our Froggy puppets we made during the first week of school. Everyone is excited about making more puppets, and thus have allowed us to change our unit! That is one of the most exciting things about the PYP curriculum. You [the teacher], are able to really listen to the discourse that occurs and change the activities and experiences to adapt to the children's interests and questions!
